Hi everybody

Updates on the international team trip to Singapore:

After a long bus trip, the snoring international coordinator Ruben and Clemence finally reached Singapore on November 24th early morning. We met the Singaporean team (Ju’an and Akbar) and visited the recording studio! One song has already be written for the YPD album, the team is still looking for singers to go to Singapore and sing for a better world! Then we met Katerina and Ramon at the ASEF office to discuss about how to strengthen YPD and ASEF partnership. Many ideas came up: looking at the feasibility of organizing a youth camp in Burma, keep on sending YPD member application to ASEF events…

Volunteer Programme Form on-line:

One step further has been made in building up our volunteer network. There is a form available on our website to help organizations building their volunteer programme, this will also help YPD to organize the placement of volunteers. Check the YPD website!

The international team on the move!

Next month is a busy month for the international team! Mako, Ruben and Clemence are going to Vientiane to meet the Laos team on November 15th. This meeting is to help the Laos team to get started with a YPD project. Afterwards Mako and Clemence will carry on and travel to Mae Sot to meet Kwi Kwi (our Karen partner working in the Thai-Burma border area) and youth organizations in Burma to discuss about organizing a youth camp in Burma. The international team will also visit the refugee camp and help organizing a student-refugee exchange to take place from November 26th to 30th. Long but hopefully fruitful trips!!!

YPD Bangladesh to complete its registration by the end of the month:

The Bangladeshi team has sent the application for official registration of YPD as youth association to the authorities. They are now waiting for the officials’ green light, more news coming soon!

International migration of YPD members:

Jean-Joseph from YPD France has moved to Japan at the end of September to do PHD he joined the Japanese YPD team. Amrit from England and Kins from the Philippines are going to Australia in November to work with Stefan on the Green World Youth Day and on our next annual training programme. Good luck for all of them.

Special Congratulations for Chit, from YPD Laos!!

Chit, the local coordinator for YPD Laos, has been selected by ASEF to participate to the 2d Conference for Youth Political Leaders, on October 24th to 28th in Copenhagen, Denmark. This is the first YPD attendance to an ASEF event, we all hope there will be many more!
